Daughters of Sara: Wait on The Lord

Daughters of Sara: Wait on The Lord: It's been  several weeks since I've written anything, Life has a tendency to bog you down, and when I say life, I mean...

Wait on The Lord

Life has a tendency to bog you down, and when I say life, I mean Satan. He tries to make you believe that your problems are bigger than the God we serve. Recently my hours at my job have drastically dropped, what I was making I was just getting by with. Now I'm having to look for other work in the morning to supplement what I was making in the evening. Let's just say It's been more than stressful...Worry can bring so many things in your life, that are not wanted. It actually can pull us away from God.  Matthew 6:34 So never worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
My mind says" what will I do about all the bills if I don't get enough work for the week?" Will I have enough to pay rent? Will I have enough to feed my babies ( animals)? Will I have enough gas to even get to work? And what happens if I don't?? But the Holy Spirit in me says " Wait on the Lord" WOW!! Just like that......It says in Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
The Hebrew word for wait is Qavah  which means : to gather together in oneness, to be bound together. This is a very special word in the Bible. Simply said Qavah  means to wait on God in order to be bound with Him. That is the reason we come to God to be bound with Him, when we wait, we are giving Him time to form us. It is like the clay going to God, the molding doesn't take place in the worries of life, but in the Holy presence of God.
The other important word in this verse is renew. The Hebrew word for renew is Kalak, which means to exchange.
Their is one special type of eagle that has to change it's feathers like an snake changes it's skin in it's cycle. The eagle flies up the mountain and with his beak he pulls off all his feathers, which is very painful. He will do this until he looks like a bald turkey, then he will rest and he will wait. Then thru time a new set of feathers will grow in. When he has finished the waiting period, he is rewarded with a new set of feathers. His feathers are not being washed and cleaned, they are being remade, anew. And then in his glory he will take off in flight, soaring thru the skies. Stronger than before, despite the pain he endured.
That is what we are doing, We are exchanging the old for the new, we are exchanging our weaknesses, for the Lord's strength. We are exchanging our negative thoughts for the mind of Christ, and we are exchanging our worries for His blessings. Although sometimes the process is painful as with the eagle, We, after the waiting period, will be renewed. The key word is exchange. We can worry about bills, our jobs, people, life it self. But God has given us His word, His promise, that if we but wait on Him, He WILL renew our strength in Him.
The whole verse is saying to me, that we are by nature weak. Even a young person runs, but eventually gets tired. But when we wait on the Lord, we are taking time to draw closer to God. You are binding yourself with God. The only way you can detect the strength of your faith and the direction God has for your life, is binding yourself with the Lord and waiting on Him. And by doing that He will renew your strength. Not human strength, But  God's super abounding, super natural strength.
So I will not worry about my job, or my bills, I will choose to wait on the Lord!!
What are you worrying about today, That the Lord is telling you to wait on Him? Waiting isn't sitting, and doing nothing, it's trusting and acting. Jesus's first commandment is to COME, come to Him, worship Him.  The second one is to GO, go out and spread His love. Preach His Word. If we are doing that, while we are waiting on The Lord, we are obeying our Father in heaven. I believe by doing that, that is how we are being bound together in Christ. And in that, Christ is renewing our Spirit. We are not concentrating on our worries, we are concentrating on Christ Himself.
To sum it up: When you Qavah with the Lord you Kalah with the Lord. When you Wait on the Lord, You Renew your Strength!!!

Daughters of Sara: The Light Of Jesus

Daughters of Sara: The Light Of Jesus: Jesus never promised us a tomorrow, He only gives us today. We are commanded by Christ to go out  and spread God's word. Mark 16...

The Light Of Jesus

Jesus never promised us a tomorrow, He only gives us today. We are commanded by Christ to go out  and spread God's word. Mark 16:15   And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news* to the whole creation. Jesus is the Light of the world, and if He is residing in our hearts and lives then, His Light is shining thru for all to see. And His light ALWAYS penetrates the dark.
Seven months ago I was introduced to a man who had just lost his wife of 20 years. He was taking her loss very hard so I invited him to dinner, We became fast friends. Over the course of several months I got to know him very well and realized, he not only was missing his wife, but was missing something else. Jesus..He was in a deep depression. When we would get together for dinner or just for him to talk, he would comment on the light in my eyes, and I would say." That's Jesus your seeing". One weekend I asked him to go to church with me, it just happened to be his birthday that Sunday, and he happily said yes. Well not only was he born on October 21, he was Reborn on October 21. He gave his life to Jesus  that day. He walked out of that church a new man in Christ. John 8:12  Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life."
He didn't know what that light he saw in me was, but he wanted it. He knew it would change his life. And it did. When he got to his sisters house that day for his party, his whole family asked him why was he shining so bright? He finally knew the answer to that question. He had Jesus's light. He was a member of the Family of God. And he now had eternal life in heaven with our Father.  I John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

It's been alittle over seven months that we'd been friends, and a couple days ago my friend was killed in a car accident. I mourn my friend, but I rejoice at the fact that he is in heaven with Christ. All because He saw the light of Jesus shine in me. He now has eternal life.
Don't take one moment for granted, share Jesus's light with everyone you meet. YOU may be their only chance for them to see the Light of Jesus. John 10:28  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Be the light in someones darkness, share the Light of Christ with them. It may be a smile, a loving word of incouragement, it may even be a testamony. Just to let them know you've climbed that same mountain and over came it. But just remember it may be your last chance. Don't let it pass you by. Jesus said the time to do the Fathers will is now.
I miss my friend more than words can say. But I have the reassurance that I will one day see him in heaven. He is with Jesus. Thank you Lord for letting your light shine thru  to save one of your children. Thank you for using me to save my friend.
Be the Light for all to see, Be that light to set them free.

This is dedicated to William "Billy" Dees
Reborn on October 21, 2012
Went to meet our Lord on March 20, 2013

You were a blessing to me my friend and I will miss you dearly!

Daughters of Sara: The Power in the Name of Jesus

The Power in the Name of Jesus

I live in a small one bedroom house, My son has long since moved out so it's just me. But I do have several animals (my babies) that I take care of. My husband and I have been separated going on 8 months now and when he left, all the bills fell on my shoulders. At times, it has been a struggle to make it from week to week, but Jesus Christ has provided every time.
When I look back over the past 8 months in every situation when I did not have the money for a bill, I would pray " In Jesus Name" your word says My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and Glory in Christ Jesus.( Philippians 4:19) I can't tell you how many times Jesus supplied my needs for me.One time I called to have my phone cut off because I couldn't pay my bill and the customer rep told me, my bill had already been paid ,by whom, she had no idea. Another month I had a bill due to come out of my checking account for a hundred dollars, and that month they never took it out. Thank you, Jesus
Jesus said : John 14:13"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do,that the Father may be glorified in the Son." And Jesus went on to say:
V-14, "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."      V-16, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."     V-17, "Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:  but ye know him; for
he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."
When we pray, Jesus is telling us, He's not only giving us access to his Power, but also the power of the Holy Spirit and God The Father. Because they are three in one. There are three that bear witness, God, The Word (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit.
There is Power in the Name of Jesus.
Power = The English word is derived from the Greek word dunamis,( duvnami) dynamo, translated meaning " dynamite".
Our prayers when brought to Jesus, dynamically work for our good. Because they are not only heard by one, they are heard by three. 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and Men, the man Christ Jesus.
In Jesus name we have been given that power.
Jesus is the Power behind the prayer.  He is our dynamite.
Sometimes I forget what power Jesus gave me, What Power there is in His name.  When He was scourged, His skin falling from his back in pieces for my sins,  when He wore that crown of thorns that pieced his head, bleeding from the punctures.  When He took that walk to Calvary with the cross layed upon his beaten and battered back, so weak was He, a man called Simon had to finish carrying it for Him, His face unrecognizable from the slaps and punches of the soldiers. And if that wasn't enough pain he endured, He climbed up on that Cross and He had nails driven into his hands and feet. And for 6 hours he hung there suffering, struggling to breathe while people laughed and spat at him.   Isaiah 52:14  Just as many were astonished at you — so was he marred in his appearance, more than any human, and his form beyond that of human semblance.
Jesus endured the cross to give us His power over sin, sickness, depression, poverty and death itself.
.                                       I can not think of what Jesus endured on that day without crying, what he went thru and the pain he suffered for his children, He did it willingly, He knew it was His mission from the Father and He accomplished it.  John 19:30  When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.   He knew what He was to do and he Willingly, Lovingly and Selflessly did it.
The Hebrew word for Power is koach. K- Kaf which stands for blessings  and H-Het which stands for a fence. When you put it together, You are saying,
When you pray in the name of Jesus you are fenced in to a life of His Blessings. WOW!!
Philippians 2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name.
God gave Him the Power and the authority to then give to us. John 14: 12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Jesus has been given ALL authority and Power, in Heaven and on earth and it is thru His name we are given access to that very same Power. John 28:18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
I know every time I needed  help financially, when I prayed in His name a need was met, Somehow, some way my bills have been payed and I and my babies have yet to do without. He has supplied my every need.
When I think of the Cross and what he endured and the death he suffered, I see the love He had to have had to do that and it makes me realize that  had he not died, He never could have Risen. For it is in his Resurrection that begets the Power. For when he died He beat satan ,and took back the keys of death.  Christ is the Victor. And if I am in Christ, it makes me victorious also.
I will never forget what Jesus did on the Cross, What He did for one, He did for all. He died to give us that ( dynamite) Power in His name.  I know first hand what the Name of Jesus can do, and what Power it wields in my life, Do you? It is the name above all names. It makes the blind, see: the crippled, walk: the deaf, to hear. It brings light  where there is darkness. It brings joy in the morning and hope instead of despair. To sum it up The name Jesus, brings LIFE. John 10:10 says, "Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly."
When we pray, we are activating the Power and the Life that he gave us in His Name. He wants nothing more than to bless his children, to give us a life with abundance.
Remember today, that Jesus is waiting to hear your prayers, and to answer them. He loves us and is always ready to intercede on our behalf. If we but call on the Powerful Name of Jesus!!

A Time To Rest

Matthew 11:28-29 “…Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus said it would not be an easy road to follow,. The trails we face as Christians are sometimes very difficult. Life in it self is hard. The problems of this life at times can seem overwhelming. We face hardships in our relationships, in our finances and often times in our health. So where does Resting in the Lord come into our lives, and how can it help us in our daily lives? And why did God mention Resting so many times in his word, if it were not something we were supposed to do? Especially if it was not for our benefit?
Jesus never said for us to do anything, he didn't do himself. He was a living example to us. The kind of Rest that Christ is speaking of is not only Spiritual but also physical. Even our Father in heaven rested.
"Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made." (Genesis 2:1-3 KJV)
I have learned that when I am overwhelmed with life's problems, and situations seem out of my control or my health is failing me, that when I but Rest in the Lord, I find  peace. A peace that this world cannot give and does not know. For when I Rest in Him, He is able to take over, And do what I cannot.
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV) ~ Unto Him that is able He is to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think.
When we Rest, we surrender ourselves and our situation over to the Lord. We are saying, Lord, I can do nothing without you, But I will Rest in your Word and in your Promises that you will provide my needs and heal my body.
The Hebrew word for rest is raphah meaning relax. Each letter of the Hebrew alphabet has a symbol that represents that letter. R= Resh  which stands for the head, P=Fey which stands for your mouth and the H=Heh which stands for Gods Grace. When you put it together you are saying: If you THINK of Gods Grace and you SPEAK of Gods Grace, then you will find rest in God's Grace. The root word for raphah is rapha, which means heal. You have again the R=resh for your head(thinking)  then P=fey for your mouth ( speaking) then you have Alef= which is a symbol of an ox( a sacrifice) Christ. When you put these together you are Thinking of the The sacrifice Christ made for our sins on the cross,  And You are speaking the Blood of the cross over your life and by doing this God is not only causing you to Rest (raphah) He is bringing healing (rapha)  to your situation, to your circumstances and to your body.
So you see, by relaxing in the Lord,  We not only benefit Spiritually we benefit physically. We are taking it out of our hands and putting it into the Lord's hands. We are Relaxing in the knowledge that the Almighty God is in control of our life and his plans far exceed ours. We are acknowledging His very presence in our life and handing over our situation to him and saying Lord I will Rest while you provide. That my friend is when God can work a miracle in your life. It's when we let go and let God, that he does all the Blessing.
I have learned when I Rest It gives Christ the Glory, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask, When I but Rest!!
What are you struggling with today? marital problems, financial problems or maybe you have health issues your battling? Well my friend, you've but to Rest in the Lord  and He will bring you to new places. Health to your marriage, Healing to your body and  the Grace of Christ to open the windows of Heaven to bless your finances.
Jesus is our place of Rest from the storms of life. When this life is tossing you around, Remember Thru Him and only Him will we find true Rest. He is our rapha.
