A Fight To The Death

'We being Christians have been given choices. We can go thru this life victorious or we can go thru life defeated. We can be conquerors, or we can be slaves to sin.
There are so many things in this life that satan uses to try and discourage us, to pull us away from our God given birthright. We have been made joint heirs  with Christ. We are sons and daughters of The Living God.
Satan comes at us at full force, But what he fails to realize, is he's already lost the battle a long time ago. He's shooting with blanks and he doesn't even know it. Luke 10: 19: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  When Jesus died on the cross and conquered death, He took ALL power from him and gave it to us. Jesus gave us the most powerful weapon needed to defeat satan  and all his little demons. And that weapon is His Word. Jesus is the greatest example there is, that His word works. Matthew 4:1-10  Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’
Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.
If it worked  for the Son of God, How much more do you think it will work for us, His adopted children, whom He loves? Our God who sent His Son to die for us? For our sins, to ensure us eternal life with Him?
We are in the most important battle of our lives. Ephesians 6:12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
It is a battle for our Spirit. Heaven or Hell.  And God equipped us with what we need to win the battle,  1 Peter 1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the Word. And Jesus used His Word to defeat satan. The Greek word for tempted is tested. We Christians are being tested daily by the devil.  We have choices to give in or to resist the temptations and pleasures of this very temporary world. If we truly belong to God, then this world is not our home, we are merely passing thru.  John 17:14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

This world and the pleasures in it are temporary, BUT God is eternal. 2Corinthains 5:1  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

I am a living testimony that God's word works. It guards my mind, when satan  tries to tempt me with worldly pleasures. It encourages me when the worries of this life try and drag me down. It strengthens my Faith that thru Christ I am more than a Conqueror. It enables me to be bold in spreading Christ's love to others. Gods word shows me, He knew me and loved me before the foundations of the world and that He has a plan and a purpose laid out for me. And above all it strengthens and edifies the Holy Spirit with in me.
We can't win a war without the right weapon. The Word of God is that weapon. But it doesn't work sitting in a drawer or on your coffee table. We have to use it, for it to apply to our lives. In Psalms 119, King David wrote " Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" To me, the sum of God's word is' Truth '.  Jesus said " He is the Way the Truth and the Life.
If we apply God's Word to our daily lives, we CAN and WILL be more than conquerors.  God cannot lie, His word says so. He is a God of Covenants (Promises).  He is a God of Blessings. He is the God of Abraham. And thru Abraham we are  made heirs to his promise.  Acts 3: 25-26   Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
You see, Jesus IS the Word John 1:1-4   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.   He was in the beginning with God.   All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.   In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
He is also the Truth.  John 1: 12-14  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus left His Word for us to know Him. From cover to cover, The Bible points to the risen Savior. If you want to get to know someone personally, You either read their biography or you sit down and talk to them. With Jesus, you get to do both.  His Word leads us to health, to blessings, to Holiness, to Righteousness, to Unmerited Favor, to Grace and to Victory over the devil.   Luke 11:28 "But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear
the word of God, and keep it.

My friend, we are in the fight of our lives. Who do you want to take into battle with you? Someone that is defeated themselves? Or do you want to take someone who has beat death and taken back the keys of hell?  You see,  Christ has Risen and He left us His hand book.    Hebrews 4:12 " For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing
asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart
.
We CAN win this battle, if we but use the weapon God gave us.
We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Lets fight for the Kingdom of God. The best battle plans are spent in PRAYER....and in getting to know your battle partner.

                                                 THE LIVING WORD- JESUS CHRIST
